NINE and The Long Road
Eclectic Theater
1214 10th Ave Seattle
What would you do if someone in your family was senselessly murdered? What if you were held against your will and the only person you could communicate with was a fellow captive? All the complicated emotions and complex psychological journeys the heart and mind go through when touched by crimes such as these are tackled in this double bill of one-act plays. Written from interviews with victims and perpetrators of violent crime, The Long Road follows a family who struggles for forgiveness after the murder of the son. In NINE, two women are held in a life-threatening situation and you watch as the full scale of emotions -- which are alternately funny, fragile and fierce -- play out before your eyes. Never before have two one-act plays been combined to create such a riveting exploration of crime and its affect on the human spirit.
