Proposals
Wade James Theatre
950 Main Street Edmonds
It's 1953 in playwright Neil Simon's (The Odd Couple, Barefoot in the Park) nostalgic memory play, Proposals, and the Hines family finds itself gathering for summer vacation in the Poconos for the last time. This lesser-known work from Simon, which made its Broadway debut in 1997, boasts a cast of colorful characters -- including a patriarch still in love with his ex-wife, a young woman who has recently broken her engagement, an aspiring writer and his bimbo girlfriend, a housekeeper with a history, and a Miami gangster. Filled with humor that will have you laughing even as its story tugs on your tender heartstrings, don't miss this Edmonds Driftwood Players production of Proposals at the Wade James Theatre.
