Red took Broadway by storm in 2010 with its portrait of painter Mark Rothko's ambition and vulnerability. The winner of that year's Tony Award for Best Play, this daring drama picks up with Rothko in the early 1960s, after he has just landed the biggest commission in the history of modern art -- a series of murals for New York's famed Four Seasons Restaurant. Working feverishly in his studio in the Bowery with his brash young assistant, Ken, Rothko struggles to complete what he hopes will be his crowning achievement while also facing the possibility that the project could become his undoing. Red's startling snapshot of a brilliant artist experiencing vulnerability at the height of his fame comes to SecondStory Repertory in Redmond
