Fail Better: Beckett Moves
ACT
700 Union St. Seattle
Renowned novelist and playwright Samuel Beckett grappled with the existential questions of life, love, action and inaction and simple tasks, fulfilled or unfulfilled. Inspired by his prose, Vashon Island's UMO Ensemble will tackle seven physical conundrums based on those themes in Fail Better: Beckett Moves UMO. You'll see artists balancing on a giant teeter totter, juggling tin cans, and suspending on ropes from two giant pulleys. World-renowned rope artist Terry Crane and sound designer Jimmy Garver set the scene for the physical theater troupe's Beckett exploration. Elizabeth Klob, UMO's executive artist, directs Fail Better as the Ensemble brings a rich history of clowning, storytelling, and breathtaking physical skill to the stage.
