Fail Better: Beckett Moves at ACT

Fail Better: Beckett Moves

ACT
700 Union St. Seattle

Renowned novelist and playwright Samuel Beckett grappled with the existential questions of life, love, action and inaction and simple tasks, fulfilled or unfulfilled. Inspired by his prose, Vashon Island's UMO Ensemble will tackle seven physical conundrums based on those themes. You'll see artists balancing on a giant teeter totter, juggling tin cans, and suspending on ropes from two giant pulleys. World-renowned rope artist Terry Crane and sound designer Jimmy Garver set the scene for the physical theater troupe's Beckett exploration. Elizabeth Klob, UMO's executive artist, directs ensemble members Janet McAlpin, David Godsey, Maria Glanz, and Lyam White as they bring a rich history of clowning, storytelling, and breathtaking physical skill to the stage. This program contains adult themes and brief nudity.
