Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Seattle Children's Theatre
201 Thomas St, Seattle
Every great storyteller saves his best stuff for his own kids. A.A. Milne created the world of Pooh for his son, (the real) Christopher Robin. L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz started out as a bedtime story. Likewise, Ian Fleming wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang specifically for his little one. Thankfully, millions more have experienced the thrills and pure wackiness of Fleming's tall-tale -- thanks to the original novel and the manic 1968 movie musical. Now Chitty reaches a new generation with a stage adaptation presented by Seattle Children's Theatre. Join the adventure as inventor Caractacus Potts and his two children race to rescue Grandpa Potts from the evil Baron Bomburst in their magical flying car. Music from the Sherman Brothers (who also wrote the music for Mary Poppins), including the Oscar-nominated title song, adds even more magic to this magical production at Charlotte Martin Theatre.
