  Annie at Kitsap Forest Theater

Annie

Kitsap Forest Theater
3000 Seabeck Hwy Bremerton

The Mountaineers Players continue their tradition of outdoor theater at the magical Kitsap Forest Theater with the classic Broadway musical: Annie. For four weekends this summer (Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm) this popular comic strip character will come alive on our forest stage. Both residents of the Kitsap Peninsula and visitors from Seattle and beyond will delight in this family-friendly production at the beautiful Kitsap Forest Theater, located just west of Bremerton. A quarter-mile trail transports visitors to another time and place where stories for all ages have come to life since 1923. Generations of theatergoers have enjoyed the scenic drive or ferry ride to the theater, and often come early to picnic under the firs before the trail to the theater opens at 1:00 pm. Walk on the 11:10 am Bremerton ferry and take our shuttle to the theater (reservations required). Leapin’ Lizards! The popular comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world’s best-loved musicals. With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts, despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930’s New York City. She is determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous and magical world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations and befriends President Franklin D. Roosevelt. She finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. Annie is the perfect family-friendly musical, containing such memorable songs as It’s a Hard Knock Life, Easy Street and Tomorrow.
